Fees & Payment Methods
Learn about the fees associated with applying for a U.S. Passport and how to come prepared with the appropriate payment method for each fee
Each Passport application requires remittance of two separate payments
1. Department of State fee - for the production of the passport book and/or card

The Department of State only accepts checks or money orders. Be sure to bring a separate check or money order made out to "Department of State" for each applicant and their associated fee(s), as well as an additional form of payment for the Passport Office fee(s) listed below.
2. UC San Diego Passport Office fee - for processing the application
Payments made to our office can be made with cash, credit card, or a check/money order made payable to UC Regents. For multiple applicants, the payment can be combined.
